Why a photo of your menu isn't enough

Photographed menus are hard to read, impossible to search and out of date as soon as a price changes.

Many restaurants and cafés put a photo of their printed menu online. It's quick, but it causes problems.

It's hard to read on a phone

People have to pinch, zoom and scroll sideways. Many won't bother.

Search engines can't read it

Text in an image is far less useful to search engines than real text, so people searching for a dish you serve are less likely to find you.

It goes out of date

When a price or dish changes, the photo is wrong until someone reprints and reshoots it.

What works better

A simple text menu with sections, short descriptions and prices, which you can edit yourself. Add a QR code on tables and bags, and link to it from your Google listing and Instagram bio.
